Drivers in Charlotte Seek Job Security, Improved Health Plan, Pension (CHARLOTTE, NC) - A group of 222 drivers at FedEx Freight’s Charlotte, N.C., terminal voted today to join Teamsters Local 71. “This victory is about wanting respect on the job, improved health care coverage and to be treated fairly,” said Roger Dale Jones, a 20-year road driver at FedEx Freight.

A support fund for Aurora Officer Ryan Burns has been established. Ryan was seriously wounded in a shooting Friday night. Aurora Police Officer Ryan Burns was shot in the line of duty receiving serious injury on Friday, November 14th, 2014 while conducting a traffic stop in Aurora, Co. The driver of the vehicle had just stolen the vehicle and had not yet been reported as such.

The Jim Riley Snare Drum by Ludwig is named after Jim Riley, son of Former Local 950 President James "Chet" Riley and current drummer for Country Recording Artist Rascal Flatts. Jim is proud of his firefighter family heritage and has designed a drum emblazed with the traditional fire service maltese cross making it ideal for honor guards and fire service buffs alike.
